We minimize our CO2 footprint.
And yours too!

At Your Green Mix, we strive to align our corporate policies with the UN climate goals to actively contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon future. Our efforts focus on taking ecological responsibility and reducing emissions in raw material extraction, transport, production, use and disposal.

Climate protection projects supported by Your Green Mix

We support initiatives dedicated to climate protection. A notable example is Deutschland Plus Mix. This project effectively integrates global and local efforts for climate preservation by combining a reforestation initiative in the natural forests of Togo, West Africa, with a commitment to climate and environmental conservation here in Germany.

The Deutschland Plus Mix initiative is characterized by the following simultaneous measures and goals:

Natural forest restoration in Togo, West Africa:

  • Planting native tree species from own tree nurseries with a total of 8 project villages
  •  80.000 to 140.000 tree seedlings are cultivated annually
  • Forest areas are sustainably protected
  • People in the region are integrated and trained
  • CO2 is permanently bound by the activities (emission compensation)

Regional commitment to climate protection:

  • Each certificate simultaneously supports forest ecology projects in Germany
  • Implementation takes place with regional forestry organisations in the Taunus, Black Forest and many more
  • The project is organised on municipal, state or national areas
  • In this sense, the project creates a balance between global and regional climate protection

Key Points about Climate Neutrality

Climate neutrality signifies a condition in which the greenhouse gas emissions, resulting from a specific activity, enterprise, organization, or even an entire nation, are entirely counterbalanced or offset. This implies that the quantity of emitted greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide, methane, or nitrous oxide) is either equivalent or less than the quantity of greenhouse gases reintegrated into the atmosphere through emission reductions or investments in projects aimed at climate protection.

In the pursuit of climate neutrality, any residual emissions must be compensated by means of emissions removal. Furthermore, it’s essential to include the localized or regional biogeophysical consequences of human endeavors that might, for instance, impact surface albedo or the local climate

The concept of climate neutrality is built upon the principle that human undertakings should exert no net influence on the climate system. This necessitates that any remaining emissions are counteracted through suitable climate protection initiatives and compensatory projects, all aimed at achieving equilibrium between emissions and climate safeguarding.

We determine the arising greenhouse gas emissions of our products through the “Greenhouse Gas Protocol.” The GHG Protocol is a well-known and widely used instrument for capturing, quantifying, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions from companies, organizations, and governments. It was developed by two nonprofit organizations, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
We offset CO2 emissions that we are currently unable to avoid or further reduce with climate protection projects. We would like to share these efforts and thus include the sentence “climate-neutral through CO2 compensation” in our product descriptions.
